Controversial North West businessman Brown Mogotsi has been arrested following his appearance at Madlanga Commission today. He is set to face charges related to alleged staged assassination attempt on his life, following his appearance at the Madlanga Commission today.
National police spokesperson Brig. Athlenda Mathe said Mogotsi would be charged with defeating the ends of justice if investigations find the incident was fabricated. “If we are pulling out police resources, mobilising police resources, various experts, members of Visible Policing, and detectives to attend to a particular crime scene, that is a diversion of resources,” Mathe said.
The alleged attack occurred hours after Mogotsi engaged with the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, where he appeared as a key witness. Police said Mogotsi’s vehicle was hit by around 11 bullets in Vosloorus, but he escaped unharmed and had no bullet wounds.
